INDIE HOLLYWOOD SOCIAL
Community terms & privacy
Effective October 24, 2026. Indie Hollywood Social. Questions: info@theelephantroomltd.com.
A community built around the work
This platform is open to actors and filmmakers aged 18 and over. Use an accurate professional identity. Share only images, performances, scripts, and other material you own or have permission to share. You retain ownership of your work and permit us to store and display it to provide the platform.
Keep all posts and interactions related to filmmaking, acting, casting, and collaboration. Selling or soliciting services is not allowed, including unsolicited pitches by direct message. Member feed posts and opportunities appear immediately. Posting limits and duplicate-message checks help reduce spam; report material that breaks these rules. Do not harass, impersonate, spam, publish private information without permission, post illegal or exploitative material, or misrepresent a production’s funding, compensation, schedule, or casting needs. Do not ask applicants to pay for a casting decision. Use Report / block when something is wrong.
Public posts, profile images, reels, and shared media must not contain nudity or real-world graphic violence. Film scenes and behind-the-scenes work must follow these limits. Reviewers may reject or remove material that violates these rules.
Membership
Actor membership is currently complimentary and does not require a payment method. This is an introductory offer, not a promise of permanent free access. Filmmaker membership is currently $5 USD per month. For new web filmmaker accounts under the card-required offer, activate seven full days of access through Stripe checkout with a valid payment method and agreement to automatic renewal. No subscription charge is due at activation and we do not request a $5 authorization hold; your bank may show a temporary verification authorization. At the trial end shown in checkout and Membership, the subscription automatically renews at $5 USD per month until canceled. Cancel through Manage subscription before the trial ends to avoid the first subscription charge. Trial cancellation retains access through the trial end; paid cancellation retains access through the paid period. Failed payments do not extend access. Every account already in the system before this change retains its existing free-access dates and billing arrangement, whether active or inactive. No new card requirement or automatic subscription is imposed on existing accounts. Industry and approved operational/reviewer access remains complimentary. Google Play purchases remain managed by Google Play under its displayed terms. Cancellation feedback is optional and never blocks cancellation. There are no extra charges to post, message or connect.
Price changes. Membership prices and free or promotional access are subject to change. Changes apply prospectively, subject to existing commitments. New members will see the current price before checkout. We will notify existing subscribers before an increase affects their renewal and obtain consent when required by law or the payment provider.
Members make their own casting and collaboration decisions. Profiles, credits, production claims, and opportunities are member-provided unless a specific check is described. Access does not guarantee work, auditions, payment, or professional credentials. Platform features may evolve.
What we collect and who sees it
We store your email, password hash, account role, profile, posts, uploaded media, follows, messages, audition activity, reports, and membership records. Your profile and feed content are available to signed-in members and can be shared publicly. Anyone with a shared link, including social-media preview services, can see the selected post and its media or the profile’s name, role, bio, photo, and reel. Shared pages do not expose account emails, private messages, or audition files. Messages and private audition files are limited to authorized participants. Published project scripts may be available to eligible signed-in members. A profile visit shows the visitor’s name to that member once per day.
We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in and short-lived verification records to secure your account. Microsoft Graph delivers account codes. Cloudflare/Sites provides hosting and storage. Stripe processes website subscription payments and Google Play processes Android subscription payments. We store encrypted Google purchase references and an account identifier to verify, restore, and manage membership access; this application does not store card numbers. Authorized operators can access records needed to investigate support requests, abuse, or billing issues.
Member feedback
Optional check-ins and suggestions are stored with your account and visible to the platform owner, not other members. They help us understand connections, barriers and requested improvements. You can dismiss check-ins or turn them off in Feed reminders. Opportunity suggestions are based on your casting preferences or people you follow; they are not personal casting invitations. Feedback does not guarantee a feature change.
Advertisements
Only owner-approved film-related placements are allowed; service-sales advertisements are prohibited. Paid placements are labeled Sponsored. We record daily unique member impressions and clicks for campaign reporting. These measurements do not change casting rankings, and advertisers do not receive private messages or account email addresses through the campaign reports.
Indie Hollywood Social is also covered by our privacy policy.
Read our Child safety standards, including how to report child sexual abuse or exploitation.
Discovery previews and industry requests
City, state/province/region, and country identify your professional home base; we do not ask for a street address. Public membership previews are optional and show only the fields described beside each consent control. Existing profiles and opportunities are not opted in automatically. You can remove preview consent by editing the relevant profile or opportunity details.
Industry browsing remains private. An industry member sending a material request discloses their name, company, and self-reported title to the recipient. Members can decline or approve a specific link. Removing an approved link stops its display in the app but cannot retrieve copies already accessed. A request is not an offer of employment, financing, or distribution.
We record account activity by day and checkout starts for private owner reporting about participation and conversion. We do not record card numbers through these measurements. Manage matching-opportunity alerts in account settings.
Your choices and support
You can edit your profile, delete your own posts, block accounts, and manage notification preferences. Request account deletion or a copy of your data through Account help. We review requests, verify ownership, and explain any records that must be retained for billing, fraud prevention, or an unresolved dispute. Deletion is a reviewed request, not an instant action. Cancel any subscription with the provider used to purchase it (Stripe or Google Play) before closing your account.
We may remove content or pause access to investigate abuse. Contact support to ask for review of a moderation decision. Response times and continuous availability are not guaranteed.
